The impressionists and Fauvisits of a century before, such as
Gustave Caillebotte, the original Urban Impressionist, have also
contributed to Ted’s inspiration of his Birmingham scenes.
Although Ted’s style is certainly contemporary and
representational.
Ted’s paintings are the product of a plate knife, or at other
times, brushes or a mixture of the two. Although Ted favours
canvas to other media, he is happy working with board. He is
equally happy working with oil on canvas, board or oilpaper,
acrylic, gouache, charcoal and pencil or pen and ink.
